Profile
Hongwei Niu was born in 1994 and is from Hanggin Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. He is of Han ethnicity and holds a Ph.D. He is currently an Associate Professor and master's supervisor at the School of New Energy, Inner Mongolia University of Technology. He has been selected as a high-level talent under the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's "Talent Development in Inner Mongolia" Program. His research focuses on the computational simulation and design of new energy materials. He serves as principal investigator for two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As first author, he has published five SCI-indexed papers in journals including Physical Review Letters and Computational Materials Science.

Outside research, I enjoy running, which helps me stay focused and energized amid a busy work schedule. While at university, I served as president of HIT's Run Is Love Running Club and placed eighth in the Men's Group A 5000 m at the 57th Harbin Institute of Technology Athletics Meet.
